Nurses are being reminded that as of April 2016, you must complete a revalidation application if you wish to remain fully registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

The process will build upon the existing NMC Prep standards and will encourage all nursing professionals to demonstrate how you have regularly engaged in reflective practice to improve standards; ensuring you are working safely and effectively.

Those who are due to renew their NMC registration on the 1st April 2016 will be the first to submit one of the new revalidation applications; the process will then continue on a monthly basis according to your individual registration renewal date. It is important to note that as well as completing your revalidation process, you must also remember to pay your annual retention fee to ensure you retain your registration with the Council.

To help our nurses as they prepare for their revalidation applications, we will be hosting an online discussion on Tuesday 8th March (7pm-8pm) to answer any questions you may have about the new process. You can ask your questions to a panel of experts who will be on hand to offer support, advice and guidance.

To join us for our discussion, simply pre-register your details.

You can read more information about the revalidation process and what this means in our downloadable factsheet or by visiting the NMC revalidation microsite

Alternatively, if you would like to know more about how Sanctuary can support you through your revalidation application, come and see us in person! We will be exhibiting at RCN Bulletin Jobs Fair in Birmingham on the 3rd and 4th March – come and see us at stand 42, where we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the process.
