    Are you looking for a new nursing role?

    Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated criminal justice liasion and diversion nurse to work in Brent. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.

    The pay rates for this locum nurse job is £23.38 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is an initial 3-month contract.

    Responsibilities of the nurse:
    - To act as an autonomous practitioner in police custody suites and court detention cells, assess an individual's mental state and risk and within the context of the alleged offence and the criminal justice system, implement a care pathway for each individual.
    - To receive referrals from custody suites and to attend in a timely manner in order to assess detained people deemed to be mentally vulnerable or to be suffering from a mental illness.
    - To prepare accurate written reports following assessment in line with quality standards.

    Requirements of the nurse:
    - Degree or equivalent in nursing
    - Current NMC registration (RGN/RMN)
    - Qualified mental health nurse
    - A minimum of 3 years post registration experience
    - Experience of community mental health crisis work and risk assessment
    - Experience of the assessment of clients with drug/alcohol related problems and clients with a history of transience or homelessness
