Prison Registered Mental Health Nurse

Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated prison mental health nurse to work within a community mental health team in a prison in Brent. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of mental health nursing and prison services.

The pay rate for this prison mental health nurse job is £23.20 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is a minimum 2-month contract.

Responsibilities of the prison RMN:
- be flexible and self-managing
- Caseload of up to 34 people with severe and enduring mental health and drusg related issues and to be able to use the recovery goal principles to support them
- Carry out initial assessments and present to the team
- Liaise with other professionals/teams
- Participate in the depot clinic
- Support and progress with review and discharge plans for those no longer requiring secondary mental health service

Requirements of the prison RMN:
- Degree or equivalent in mental health nursing (RMN trained)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
- Be willing to undertake a DBS check (previously CRB)
- Have at least 2 years' post qualification experience
- Prison clearance is essential
