Are you looking for a new prison nurse role?

Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated prison nurse to work in a prison in Cheshire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of prison nursing and be registered with the NMC.

Pay Rates:
Weekdays - £26 (Umbrella) per hour
- Nights- £29.08 (Umbrella) per hour
- Saturdays- £33.94 (Umbrella) per hour
- Sundays- £42.59 (Umbrella )per hour

This is an initial 6-month contract.

Responsibilities of the prison nurse:
- Promote the health and wellbeing of prisoners and community as a whole.
- Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs. Plan, assess and evaluate programmes of care according to changing health needs.
- To support the team leader in the co-ordination of complex and continuing care packages.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with NMC.
- Attend a multi-disciplinary case conference in the absence of the team leader.
- To communicate and collaborate with other members of the prison, PHCT, voluntary and statutory organisations to support individual patient care.
- To establish and maintain effective communication with patients, prison staff and relatives in complex and potentially challenging situations.
- To competently perform clinical skills related to the post.
- To be professionally responsible for chronic disease clinics under the supervision of the Primary Care Team Leader.

Requirements of the prison nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in nursing
- Current NMC registration (RGN)
- Significant experience as a prison nurse
