    Description

    Are you looking for a new prison nurse role?

    Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Prison Registered General Nurse to work in a prison based in Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Prison Nursing and be registered with the NMC.

    This role offers a competitive pay rate of £26 - £36.50 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent).

    The Post holder supports the Primary Care Team Leader in the management of the community nursing team. Acts up in the team leader's absence, accessing support from another team leader when appropriate. Assessing, planning and evaluating simple and complex care packages based on individual needs. Reporting back to the Primary Care Team Leader information relating to any changes in patient needs. Teaching and Assessing.

    Duties:
    - Promote the health and wellbeing of prisoners and community.
    - Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs. Plan, assess and evaluate programmes of care according to changing health needs.
    - To support the team leader in the co-ordination of complex and continuing care packages.
    - Maintain accurate records in accordance with NMC.
    - Attend a multi-disciplinary case conference in the absence of the team leader.
    - To communicate and collaborate with other members of the prison, PHCT, voluntary and statutory organisations to support individual patient care.
    - To establish and maintain effective communication with patients, prison staff and relatives in complex and potentially challenging situations.
    - To competently perform clinical skills related to the post.
    - To be professionally responsible for chronic disease clinics under the supervision of the Primary Care Team Leader.
    - To assess health needs at individual, practice and community level.
    - To undertake chronic disease management reviews using appropriate template.
    - To work without direct supervision

    Requirements of the Prison Nurse:
    - Part 1 NMC registration
    - Experience of working within a team
    - Able to provide examples of diversity in practice
    - Able to work within challenging and complex situations
    - Experience of working with potentially aggressive people
    - Evidence of ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
