Qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advisor

Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated independent domestic violence advisor to work in the Youth Offending Team in Barking.

The pay rate for this locum independent domestic violence advisor job is £19 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is a 3-month contract.

Responsibilities of the independent domestic violence advisor:
- Provide a high quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a service to those at highest risk
- Work within a multi-agency framework
- Play an active role in local partnership responses to domestic abuse
- Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of clients and their children is monitored and reviewed regularly

Requirements of the independent domestic violence advisor:
- Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic abuse and experience of working with medium/high risk domestic violence victims
- Experience of working as an effective member of a team
- Knowledge and understanding of criminal justice processes
- Experience and understanding of working in a multi-agency environment and of partnership working
- Understanding and knowledge of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practice and maintenance of files in accordance with the data protection act and other legal requirements
- Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity
- Experience of monitoring individual and/or team performance against targets and standards
