    Description

    Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated team manager to work in a community/custody team full-time in Southwark. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of youth offending.

    The pay rate for this locum team manager job is £33.96 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is an initial 3-month contract.

    Responsibilities of the team manager:
    - managing a team of qualified social workers and probation officers who are supervising both statutory court orders and prevention cases
    - Responsible for supervision of staff both on a 1:1 basis and in group supervision
    - Providing effective management oversight of high risk and complex cases and quality assurance of assessments of reports
    - Support and assess newly qualified social workers through their assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE), others participating in work based routes into social work or youth justice, and the endorsement of social workers preparing for the national assessment and accreditation system (NAAS), taking the role of practice educator where appropriate
    - Build effective partnerships to deliver services flexibly across the organisation (as governed by service need) and within home. Schools or community settings where required

    Requirements of the youth justice team manager:
    - Hold a professional qualification in social work, probation or a related profession working with young people
    - Desirable to be registered with the HCPC
    - Must be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development
    - Knowledge of youth justice legislation, national standards and case management guidance, restorative justice principles, relevant childcare legislation, statutory guidance and the London child protection procedures
    - Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and protective factors for offending and desistance
    - Knowledge and understanding of current issues in youth justice practice, particularly in relation to desistance theory and trauma informed practice
    - Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key youth justice and children's agencies
    - Knowledge and understanding of a range of systemic, restorative, and attachment-informed practices and methodologies and commitment to the approaches within Southwark's practice framework
