Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Youth Offending Service Worker to work in Redbridge.

The pay rate for this Youth Offending Service Worker job is £18.17 - £19.17 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is a 3-month contract.

Responsibilities of the Service Worker:
- Undertake holistic assessments of children, young people and their families which identify risk and protective factors and analyse the underlying causes of their offending, ensuring their views are reflected to inform decision making and how approaches are adapted to work with them.
- Work creatively in developing and delivering interventions with the child and their parent or carer which focus on the criminogenic need and strengthen factors for desistance. This will involve using imaginative approaches and could include one-to-one or group work. The interventions should be regularly reviewed.
- Engage and motivate children and young people in a meaningful and creative way in accordance with National Standards and statutory/voluntary requirements, which promotes compliance with their Order and allows for the development of a trusting, professional relationship.
- To work in a multi-disciplinary team and to work effectively in partnership with staff based in relevant agencies, fostering strong relationships that promote positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
- To prepare Pre-Sentence Reports to the Courts, following assessment, giving proposals for intervention to reduce offending, about the welfare of the child.
- To prepare reports for Referral Order Panels and attend the Panel to support volunteer panel members with information about suitable interventions.
- To attend Court when required working as the Youth Offending Service representative, providing advice and support to young people, their families and the judiciary and to undertake bail assessments and produce bail support packages for Court.
- To develop interventions with the parents of children and young people referred to the Service in order to provide them with support and develop their parenting skills; enable parents and carers to support their child to complete their pre-court disposal or statutory court order.

Requirements of the Youth Offending Service Worker:
- Significant UK experience within Youth Offending
- Excellent communication and assessment skills (Using Assetplus) and court officer experience
